Limerick is in for a big night this Friday, 2 October, as The Scratch take over the Big Top at The Milk Market for what promises to be one of the most energetic live shows of the autumn.
The Dublin four-piece have built a formidable reputation for blending Irish folk, acoustic music and heavy rock, creating a sound that is instantly recognisable and even more impressive live. Known for their high-energy performances, The Scratch have played major festivals across Europe, toured internationally and shared stages with acts including Dropkick Murphys and Dermot Kennedy.
Their latest chapter centres around their third album, Pull Like A Dog, a record that develops the acoustic/electric folk-metal sound that helped make their previous album Mind Yourself such a success.
The phrase “pull like a dog” famously entered Irish popular culture following the O’Donovan brothers’ 2016 Olympic rowing interview, and for The Scratch it has become something of a philosophy: commit fully, give it everything, and see where it takes you. That attitude fits their live shows perfectly.
